Alexander Shaw(V)
- Actor
Alexander is a descendant of George Bernard Shaw, who wrote the quintessentially English play Pygmalion, which was brought to the screen by Audrey Hepburn in 'My Fair Lady'. His brothers are William (4) and Oliver Shaw (15), who is known for The Critic and Disclaimer.
Alexander began his professional career aged 7, when he was chosen to play Young Conrad in The King's Man. Alexander was found through school by Matthew Vaughn and Reg Poerscout-Edgerton (CD). For Alexander, playing Young Conrad, alongside such a talented cast, was a thrilling opportunity to be part of an epic action-adventure film with a heart that featured real-world historical figures and events. Alexander was also supported early on by Kate Rhodes James (CD), appearing as Marie-Antoinette's son in Sir Ridley Scott's epic film, Napoleon.
Alexander's TV debut saw him playing Agent Ozzie, in the live-action, cult comedy series Odd Squad (winner of 17 Daytime Emmys). The fourth season, Odd Squad UK, follows two young agents, a very British Agent Ozzie (Alexander Shaw), partnered with his total opposite, Canadian Agent Orli (Asha Soetan). This decade long series features kid agents who work for a secret government agency, solving math-related mysteries CSI style. The series has broadcast on leading kid's channels on all continents in over 25 languages. Odd Squad UK has been nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards including Best Children's or Youth Fiction Program or Series.
Alexander was most recently cast in the hit BBC comedy series, Amandaland, the spin-off to the BAFTA award winning Motherland. He plays Manus, son of Amanda (Lucy Punch) and grandson of Felicity (Dame Joanna Lumley). The series has received critical acclaim for being an outstanding spin-off and has been commissioned for a second series.
