Chrystel Contreras

Chrystel was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, mostly in the southbay and on the westside. She caught the acting and writing bugs early. It started with school plays, creating a newspaper in elementary school, writing stories she directed her friends and cousins to act out, though they had another word for it; she has been a storyteller since she learned to read and write. She was also a child actor until her early teens. Who remembers black and white headshots?!

Chrystel enlisted in the US Navy in her late teens. She completed a four-year enlistment that took her around the world. After receiving an honorable discharge, she enrolled in college and graduated with her B.S. in Business Administration. But the creative bug never went away. After working a corporate job for some years, the itch could no longer be ignored. Chrystel left the corporate world and returned to her first true loves, acting and writing. The industry has definitely changed since she was a child, but for the most part, the changes are positive.

Life is too short. Too short for regrets. Too short to not pursue your passions. Obviously, Chrystel strives to be a successful, working actress and writer. But it is the art of storytelling that she loves, the rest is icing on the cake. It's not every day you get a second chance to live the life you wanted, and Chrystel is not wasting hers.
