Haruno Niiyama

Haruno Niiyama was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. She graduated from a drama-focused high school, where her passion for acting began, and later trained at acting schools in both Japan and Canada. She began her career in Japan with appearances in popular shows such as Ultraman Taiga. Her work also includes portraying Natsu no Kata in Disney+'s Shogun, the critically acclaimed series that won multiple Emmy Awards, and Yuki in Season 2 of Apple TV's Pachinko, a BAFTA and Critics' Choice Award-winning series. In addition to screen acting, Haruno is trained in samurai stage combat (Tate) and has performed in Los Angeles, Canada, and Japan. She also shares her expertise with Vancouver's local theatre community, including companies such as Bard on the Beach and Arts Club.
