Anjali Joshi is an Indian actress known for her work in Marathi theatre and television. Born in Murtizapur near Nagpur, she was raised in the Nagpur region, where her passion for acting began during her school years. She actively participated in school drama competitions, sparking an early interest in the performing arts.
Despite her creative inclinations, Anjali pursued academics and completed her M.Tech in Chemical Engineering. She went on to become the Head of Department at a reputed college. However, her true calling lay elsewhere, and she eventually left her teaching career to follow her passion for acting.
To understand the intricacies of the film industry, Anjali worked behind the scenes as an Assistant Director and Production Controller, gaining valuable experience in various aspects of filmmaking. She also performed in a German-format play titled Grips and played her first lead role in the theatre play pratibimb, written by Mahesh elkunchwar. Another major success was Yonichya manichya gujgoshit A marathi version of Amarican play Vagina Monologue by eve ensler popular play that completed over 100 shows across Maharashtra
Anjali further honed her acting skills under the guidance of the late Pandit Satyadev Dubeyji and Vijaya mehta. Her breakthrough in television came with the Marathi serial Tuzya mazya sansarala ani kay have where her performance was widely appreciated. She earned the ZEE Best Supporting Actor Award for her role in the show.
Her short film Black Sheep was nominated at a prestigious film festival CANNES , marking a significant milestone in her career. Since then, Anjali Joshi has continued to build her journey in the entertainment industry, never looked back
