Valery Goborov was born on 20 January 1965 in Kherson, Kherson, Ukraine [ex-Soviet Union]. He died on 7 September 1989 in Moscow, Russia [ex-Soviet Union].
He was a Soviet basketball player and gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics and was a champion of the USSR League (1988). He won a silver medal at Eurobasket 1987, in Athens, against Greece and bronze medalist of European championship (1989).
