Danish Aslam is an Indian filmmaker whose work spans feature films, streaming originals, and television. He made his directorial debut with the 2010 romantic comedy-drama Break Ke Baad, starring Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan. His sophomore feature, Khwaabon Ka Jhamela-produced by Jio Studios and headlined by Prateik Babbar, Sayani Gupta, and Kubbra Sait-released in 2024 to strong digital buzz. He is currently in production on his third feature, a Netflix original starring Imran Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Gurfateh Pirzada, marking Khan's much-anticipated return to the screen.
Between his two films, Danish became a prominent voice in India's digital content boom. He directed and co-wrote several acclaimed web series, including Flesh (Eros Now), a hard-hitting drama led by Swara Bhasker and Akshay Oberoi; both seasons of Voot's It's Not That Simple (also starring Bhasker); The Reunion for Zoom Studios (with Veer Rajwant Singh, Kashmira Irani, and KK Raina); and Time Out for Voot (featuring Tahir Raj Bhasin and Sarah Jane Dias). He also helmed the Netflix anthology Feels Like Ishq, directing the episode "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" with Saba Azad.
On television, Danish directed Siyaasat (Epic), the musical drama Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo (Disney), and youth-centric series such as Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Love By Chance (both for Bindass), showcasing his ability to move between historical, musical, and contemporary romance with equal ease.
Earlier in his career, he apprenticed as an assistant director on some of Hindi cinema's most notable productions, including Fanaa, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Being Cyrus, Salaam Namaste, Lakshya, and Swades. These experiences provided him with a solid grounding across both commercial blockbusters and offbeat, character-driven storytelling-an eclecticism reflected in his own directorial work.
