Of anishinabe and French heritage, Derica Lafrance resides in North Bay, Ontario and is a member of Nipissing First Nation.
Derica is a talented singer/songwriter and guitarist, and began performing at the age of 3.
She began her acting journey in musical theatre, but fell in love with film during her first experience on set as SSE on Jared Keeso's hit television series Shoresy. She gained her first ACTRA credit on "Wingman" alongside Harland Williams and Russel Peters.
Her most recent work is on Gail Maurice's film Blood Lines, which marks her debut as a Lead Actress. She is thrilled she has been able to bring the complicated character of Chani to life on camera.
