Quincy Rose
- Writer
- Director
- Producer
Quincy Rose is a New York-based filmmaker and writer, born and raised in Los Angeles-an accident of geography he has been politely disputing since childhood.
The son of the late comedy writer Mickey Rose (Take the Money and Run, Bananas), Rose grew up around film and television sets and developed an early, lasting attachment to cinema as both craft and confession. His work is character-driven, dialogue-forward, and rooted in observational humor.
His debut feature, Miles to Go, premiered at the Hollywood Film Festival and was later named one of IndieWire's "12 Indie Films to Watch on VOD." The Hollywood Reporter wrote, "If Woody Allen and Albert Brooks had a baby, this film would be it." His second feature, Friends Effing Friends Effing Friends, premiered at Cinequest, was awarded Best Feature Romantic Drama at the Manhattan Film Festival, and was released by Gravitas Ventures.
Rose's third feature, The Narcissists, shot entirely on the streets of New York City, premiered at Indy Film Fest and screened internationally before its release via Gravitas Ventures. Additional credits include acting work in Melinda and Melinda (dir. Woody Allen), Accepted (dir. Steve Pink), and the pilot The Quincy Rose Show.
In recent years, Rose has expanded his work into essays and cultural criticism, with a focus on how humor, intimacy, and cultural exhaustion intersect.
