Kostas Bakouris is a Greek director, screenwriter, and producer. He holds a background in Film Studies from the State University of New York and in Sociology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, as well as a Master's degree with distinction in Psychology and Mass Media. He began his career directing music videos before expanding into documentaries, television programs, scripted series, and also directed for the stage at a major municipal theater in Greece. His short films "Heimlich" and "IS, or: A beautiful, tiny reddish hair, as thin as fiber" have screened at more than 85 international festivals, earning 40+ awards and distinctions. His third short, "Fall Christmas" - a Greek-French-Belgian co-production - was selected for EuroConnection at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Alongside his PhD, he currently (2025) works in advertising and visual storytelling, while he continues to develop new projects in film and television.
