An old horse named Duke, who appears to be on his last leg, is central to the second half of this pilot. At the point where Duke appears near death, David does enough to revive the old boy. Seeing David's enthusiasm, Millie decides farm life agrees with the entire family. One oddity: Jimmy Hawkins, who had earlier been featured as Mary's boyfriend Scotty, appears as a farmhand named Jimmy.
