    Call me Shane!!

After a troubled childhood and a difficult life, Willy Turner is trying to live a normal life. Unfortunately, his mental health is poor, and he spends his entire life fantasising about Westerns. Willy often believes he's the subject of Westerns.

I've seen a handful of Wednesday plays, and so far, this one is the standout-unbelievably good in every possible way. For my money, it is superior to the better-known film that followed.

It's funny, it's shocking, it's sad, it's dramatic-everything you want a drama to be. It holds a bit of nostalgia for me, but I'd say there's a definite appeal for everyone.

You get the definite flavor of Swansea here; some of the dialogue is glorious-proper Swansea, like!

It's very atmospheric, the black and white camera work definitely boosts the feel of it.

Hywel Bennett delivers a superb performance as the troubled Willy. You truly buy into his insanity and the world he's created for himself of cowboys and shootouts. Megs Jenkins is fabulous as Willy's poor mum, what an actress.

It's unbelievable to see shots of Swansea from this time: shots of Constitution Hill, The Kingsway, High Street, and more.

    Fabulous.

    10/10.
