To prove that he is still fighting fit, Albert Haddock jumps into the Thames from Hammersmith Bridge. He is found guilty on two charges and now must defend himself, on appeal, from charges of obstruction and spoiling a Regatta.
Haddock reads the Weekly Argus and thinks astrologist Sagittarius is plausible. He later learns his wife lost £100 on the stock exchange listening to Sagittarius. Haddock believes he misleading, false and deceptive and takes him to court.
