Wheels tells a comprehensive story about the auto industry in the early 1970s - from the inception of the design, to the assembly line and onto the sales floor. It also takes us inside the less glamorous side of the industry- politics, power struggles, greed, and corruption - that lurk beneath the surface. Rather well-written and filled with memorable characters, this is rather fun.

Roc Hudson and Blair Brown play one of the greatest parts of their careers in this compelling drama about the automobile industry.
Wheels, the mini-series, is a wonderful drama wrapped around the ins and outs of the automobile industry.
Why, oh why is this mini-series not available on VCR/DVD??? Not only is there a ton of money to be made, but this wonderful dramatic story should be shared with a new generation!
Please find out who and how we can make this wonderful dramatic story available for the masses!
Thank you for listening!

Great mini-series! Very engrossing and entertaining. A terrific story about the 1960's auto industry and its effects on the families involved. A fine score by veteran television composer Morton Stevens - (Hawaii Five-0), who received an Emmy Nomination for his music to this 1978 mini-series. A video release would be great!
This is an outstanding mini-series, first shown on NBC back in 1978. An excellent cast, including - Rock Hudson, Lee Remick and Fred Williamson. An excellent theme and music score by Morton Stevens. Hopefully, there will be a video release someday of this wonderful show.
I saw this movie when I was 5-7 years old. I remember begging my parents to allow me to stay up to watch it. I believe that it was being re-broadcasted on channel 56 in their 8 O'clock movie timeslot, and my bedtime was probably 7. Eventually, they allowed me to watch one or two nights, so I've never seen the movie in its entirety, but what I saw was enough for me to realize that I wanted to design cars. Before that, all I knew of the auto industry was my grandfather's garage, and the local dealerships. Today, I am an engineer for General Motors. I would love to see the movie that started me on my life-long journey to GM and Detroit. If anyone knows of any way to obtain a copy of this movie, please let me know. Otherwise, I guess I will have to keep my fingers crossed in the hope that someday it will be released on DVD.

- TriviaArthur Hailey closely based the story on the birth of the GTO, the prototypical muscle car created by 1960s Pontiac Division President John DeLorean, as well as the executive's affair with model and actress Kelly Harmon, who became DeLorean's second wife in 1969. DeLorean would later tell his own version of events in the best-selling book, "On a Clear Day YOu Can See General Motors." Forced out of GM, DeLorean would go on to greater notoriety as creator of the ill-fated DeLorean sports car.
