No Margin for Error

1 review
8/10

The movie version...this was also told through two standard episodes.

"No Margin for Error" is a "Police Story" movie, as in addition to the weekly series, the network made a few standalone movies. This one stars James Farentino, Ron Masak, Christopher Connelly, and Glenn Ford...among many others in this cast of familiar actors.

The story begins with a police chase. A crook has kidnapped a man and is making him drive...and one of the policemen opens fire on the car as it barrels towards them. However, the perpetrator AND the innocent driver are killed...and it's a PR nightmare for the police. In addition to this, the show has several other subplots...including one other officer involved shooting in which two are shot as well as an off-duty cop who shoots what appears to be a burglar.

This made for TV movie is unusual for "Police Story", which usually sticks to one plot instead of several police-involved shootings...something VERY rarely even talked about in other police shows. It shows the review process, public relations and the interactions between the police and the press.

Overall, yet another very good installment of a terrific series. Well worth seeing.
