    No Brains And No Laughs

I wished I'd taped MEN IN WHITE so I could watch it again

" What ? You mean you really enjoyed it Theo ? "

No I mean I could watch it again to see if it was as retarded , stupid and as embarrassingly unfunny as I can remember it

A lot of people have claimed it was made for children . May I suggest it was also made by children ? because the whole structure of the script lacks any type of discipline on the part of the producers and writers and much of set pieces seem to have been included because it seemed like a good idea at the time

The cast don't help but I genuinely started to feel sorry for them . Honestly you can believe that during filming the cast had to lie to their families that they were filming a hard core porn film such was their embarrassment at having to appear in something as dismal as this . To give you an idea of how bad the acting is every time BAYWATCH babe Donna D'Ericco disappeared from the narrative I waited patiently for her to reappear then seconds later I forgot she was in the movie . Got that ? A star from BAYWATCH appears and seconds later you forget they're in the movie . This tells you all you need to know about the standard of MEN IN WHITE

Fair enough it's trying to be a live action cartoon similar to THE GOODIES ( Although THE DISMALS would be a better adjective for this movie ) , though perhaps the movie deserves some credit for never descending to toilet humour , but considering this is a kids movie ( This didn't stop ITV broadcasting it at 11 pm ) then there should be no near the knuckle humour in it anyway

A childrens tv movie and that is all!

I think of the title of "National Lampoons" and i think of a hilarious insight into popular culture and the "cult" things of our times. I had expected something close to "Spaceballs" but was reminded instead of why i grew up! Do not view this movie unless you are grafting your child onto the realm of "Star Wars"....

    Please step lightly!

Not THAT bad considering the target audience

Let's be honest, this is not a great movie...it's not a very good movie. There are a few laughs here and there, and, for the target audience (kids), it's not too bad. I'm not sure what network this movie was actually made for (I know I first heard of it when Fox took control of the Family Channel.)..so, it's clearly aimed at children. I watched it myself (I was probably 18 or 19 at the time?) and I enjoyed it somewhat. Overall it's lacking in humor, but there are some funny bits here and there. The premise itself is pretty funny, and could have worked with a good script. Bostwick's career never really went very far after Rocky Horror, I see...but he's enjoyable here.

From Bad To Worse To Men In White!

Although properly warned I actually sat down to watch this movie. In part because I usually give every movie an even break, and because I thought that a single movie couldn't be that bad. I stand corrected. Not even George Kennedy, Barry Bostwick or Ben Stein could save this turkey from sinking like a ton of bricks. Only once during this humor forsaken travesty of a spoof did I laugh. Namely during the Simon says scene. The other jokes are either poorly carried out or simply plain unfunny. And some of them you actually see coming a mile away. This movie just hasn't got what it takes to be a good parody like Airplane! (I+II), Naked Gun (I+II+III), or Scary Movie. They all had A. funny gags, B. good dialog and most important of all C. unforgettable quotes. Men In White has got D. none of the above. To call this movie bad would be a gross understatement. AVOID THIS MOVIE ANYWAY YOU CAN! CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED!

Cheap, nasty, unfunny, poorly acted and practically an insult to all but the most juvenile of viewers

The world is in trouble – alien abductions are on the rise as they prepare for a full invasion and the President's main adviser, Dr Strangemeister, is part of the conspiracy to facilitate it. When two dumb bin men escape the aliens, Dr Strangemeister figures he can meet the demands of the President to put people on the case and the demands of the aliens to keep it all quiet by putting Ed and Roy on the job as special agents. Whether they know it or not, Ed and Roy take on the aliens to prevent invasion.

When I watched this film I knew that it would not be that great but I had hoped it would be a reasonable spoof but I was not prepared for just how stupid, unfunny and cheap the whole thing would be. For me to waste my time and your time discussing a plot that is little more than a very basic frame of this stupid live-action cartoon would be to give it more credit than it even deserves. Suffice to say that this film has no real story other than a very spoof aping of other films. This wouldn't be a problem if the film was even funny once or twice but it really isn't at all – not even once. Not only that but the tone is just unrelentingly silly and is simply only suitable for those under-ten. At one point even one of the characters remarks that 'our target audience will be in bed in an hour' at which point it was only 1630 – but I still thought he was right!

The writing is very poor and the jokes are lame from start to finish – I'm sure some of them worked on paper but none of them were funny on screen and the hyper delivery a la Tom & Jerry just made it feel even less enjoyable. And if you think the writing makes the film cheap then wait until you see the 'special' effects – they are dire, even for a television movie they are laughable inept and not helped by the casts' total inability to convincingly interaction with any of the computer stuff! In fact generally the whole cast are rubbish, partly due to the material but also partly due to their inability to deliver even average lines well. That Wilson and Prince are awful will be no surprise after you see them mugging like mad in the opening scene – and they continue this throughout. However what was a surprise was how poor people like Bostwick, Kennedy and Walsh were – I can only assume they were short of cash because they were rubbish even when given average lines (some of Bostwick's lines could have been worth a laugh or two if the delivery hadn't been so bad).

Overall this is awful and I add my voice to the long list of those imploring you to listen to our cry of 'stay away'! The jokes are rubbish, the delivery awful, the plot woeful and the whole film is only suitable for the under 10's. The special effects are visibly cheap and nasty but the whole film smacks of the same standard and I actually gave up on it with 20 minutes to go. The lowest point for me is a brutally unfunny running gag based on one of the funniest films ever – Dr Strangelove – can we have no sense of respect for greatness?
