I'm not as familiar with the Yogi Bear world as other people might be. Whatever else I may have seen of it, I can't remember that well. But this special is something that I enjoy watching and I see no reason as to why you wouldn't enjoy it either. It just one place, we get treated to a variety of different events all rolled into one special. I will admit, it could be a flaw that it seems like a bunch of little stories all rolled into one big story, but that flaw (if you could call it one at all) befalls a lot of great movies and specials. I still see this whenever I can each December because it always seems like a nice way to spend Christmastime. If you can see it, than watch it because it's a good movie to watch.
I am surprised none of the cartoon buffs have commmented on this cartoon.
Yogi's First Christmas has become one of the beloved Christmas specials since it aired.
It features all the characters created by Hanna-Barbera and has a pretty good story.
Of course the special comes complete with all the Christmas songs one would expect.
10 out 10.

So nice to see Yogi again - & Boo Boo, Augie and his dad Daddy Doggy, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, and Ranger Smith.
Yogi & Boo Boo are hibernating until April which makes Ranger Smith very happy at the Jellystone Park / Lodge. The manager of it is Mr. Dingwell & he's anticipating the arrival of the owner, Mrs. Sophie Throckmorton & her nephew Snidely. She wants to sell it due to some strange going ons last season during Christmas Carnival Week. Herman the Hermit hates Christmas & will do whatever it takes to shut down the lodge. Everyone's singing wakes Yogi & Boo Boo up & since they usually sleep through Christmas, they don't want to miss this one - it's their 1st Christmas (hence the name.) Yogi & Boo Boo save Mrs. T. & her bratty nephew from an avalanche, which was caused by Herman. Herman keeps doing nasty stuff & each time Yogi's the hero & gets promotions on top of promotions. Ranger Smith wants to put Yogi back in his cave / St. Louis Zoo! Cindi's awake too - she's a female bear who likes Yogi. Snidely keeps losing contests that they have, gets mad & runs away to Herman's hut. They bond since they both don't like Christmas & team up to try & ruin everything. Mrs. T. decides not to sell but rather to bring orphans up to the lodge throughout the year & donate it as an Orphanage Getaway & promotes Yogi to Christmas Carnival Director.
What a good, fun holiday classic for the kid in all of us.

Feel good family movie with a decent moral to it, this is a HB cartoon movie that is often overlooked which is a real shame.
Great animation, wonderful characters and lots of laughs.
I never really watched Yogi Bear cartoons as a kid, but this was me and my sister's favourite Christmas cartoon of all time. We used to put it on almost every morning for about three months during the run up to Christmas and then for about two months after.
Watching it as an adult brings back many warm and wonderful memories. Yes, it's full of plot-holes and goofs such as Boo Boo being present at Yogi's skiing lesson and back at the lodge at the same time, but I don't care. The DVD for this now goes on at Christmas time for my young nieces and nephews, mainly as an excuse for us to watch it, but they do love it too, along with A Flintstone Christmas.
While Yogi and Boo-Boo hibernate Ranger Smith spends Xmas in a nearby ski lodge with Snagglepuss, Augie Doggy, Doggie Daddy, and Huckleberry Hound. But it will be the last Xmas the lodge will ever have as the owner, Mrs. Frockmorton, is selling to build a freeway (over a mountain!). The festivities wake Yogi and Boo-Boo who gatecrash the party and show that fun times can still be had at the lodge, inadvertently impressing the owner at every opportunity, despite various attempts at sabotage.
The locations and animation featured in this 99-minute movie are kind of limited and sparse. It could have felt a bit more cozy and festive. Otherwise it's a decent way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the run-up to Xmas.
