I really cannot see what is meant to be so special about this film. I went in with high expectations after seeing the praise my whole life, and generally I like films up this alley. . . So I was very surprised at how boring and disheveled the film felt. It feels like a poor man's Silence Of The Lambs except the characters don't feel as memorable and developed and the setup and pay off far more contrived and less satisfying. Gwyneth Paltrow's character is briefly flashed on screen for a few times solely to try and add some gravity to the ending but is never given any real room to get too attached to when that at the least could have substantiated the ending. Not horrible just way over hyped to me.
