Yes Boss

Yes Boss is a Bollywood romantic comedy film released in 1997, directed by Aziz Mirza and produced by Ratan Jain. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Aditya Pancholi in the lead roles.

The story revolves around Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan), an ambitious young man who works as an assistant to a successful advertising executive, Siddharth (played by Aditya Pancholi). Rahul is dedicated to his job and always aims to please his boss. However, things take a turn when he falls in love with Seema (played by Juhi Chawla), an upcoming model and aspiring actress.

As the story progresses, Rahul finds himself in a difficult situation where he has to balance his love for Seema with his loyalty towards his boss, who also has feelings for her. The film explores themes of love, loyalty, ambition, and the complexities of relationships.

"Yes Boss" was well-received by both audiences and critics at the time of its release. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla's performances, along with the music composed by Jatin-Lalit, were particularly praised.

This film is essentially a remake of the Michael J Fox film "For Love or Money" aka the Concierge. The story is identical, allowing for the "Bollywood-isation" with songs, dances, and really terrible comedy pieces.

Shahrukh khan and Juhi works superb in this movie both looking like young struggler in Mumbai and shahrukh shows exact like new employees in this situation how he manage Juhi and his dreams wishesh.

The story is different to the usual tropes of Bollywood stories during the 90s. SRK plays a likable and relatable character yearning for success without consideration of his values while Juli does a similar role, they are inherently different in their personalities.

Although the antagonist performed decenty, a lot of the characters from his end didn't have much depth including his wife and secretary. They lost their importance through the story and seemed more side characterish than initially portraied.

Essentially the story is about growth and how SRK and Juli realise the value of love over the materialistic life they desired. However the story did not explore that growth thoroughly and skipped over it for the most part.

Nonetheless, the story was fun and entertaining throughout. The characters were likeable and interesting. The chemistry between SRK and Julli always is a pleasure to watch and the songs were a lot of fun. A nice watch.

Such a happy movie, and funny! A must-see for all SRK fans, his acting is always spot-on, and Juhi Chawla does a wonderful acting job as well. The two of them really work well together.

The outfits are obviously a bit dated, but it's all part of the fun. 'Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaoon' is such a lovely, romantic song from this movie. It's a classic, funny Bollywood chickflick! One I definitely plan on owning, and could see again and again. Some say this is a version of a movie that's already been done, or the storyline is similar.. But who cares? It's light, and colorful, and full of goodness. This movie is sure to make you smile :)
