I really used to enjoy this show. It was fast-paced and quirky. Just about anything could happen at any time. One episode in particular stands out. They had a coupon book and they had to use every coupon in order.
It was one of the weirder episodes.
I was sad when they canceled it. My wife and I liked it as one of the freaky weekend shows. You know, like X-files and American Gothic. I barely remember the girl in the show. She was no Jessica Alba, but I think she was hot. To me, Jake Busey made the show because he was so freaky and yet confident about it.
Vern was the bartender.
I think they had a band but I'm really not sure. I remember them wearing zoot suits for some reason.

When I saw the first ad for Shasta McNasty, I thought that it looked stupid. Then, I watched the first episode and I was still laughing after it finished. The acting was fantastic, the sets were very cool, and my favorite character was Vern, played by Verne Troyer a.k.a. Mini Me from the second Austin Powers movie. I really liked this show and I was very disappointed that UPN cancelled it. I hope that they bring it back one day.
A completely under-rated show. Now called "Shasta" for some reason - probably because the "McNasty" part was turning off too many people (like me). This show is every bit as funny as "The 70s Show" and "Futurama". I always find myself laughing out loud at something. I really hope it gets renewed for another year. Anyone who likes to laugh owes it to themself to watch this show at least once. The addition of Vern as a major character is great. He is a complete riot. Jake Busey is stellar every show too - as is the entire cast.
Six o'clock is the one time that no phone in our whole town rings. Everyone is watching Shasta. Why not? It is cool, hip and trendy. Fresh, new and innovating. Just about everyone finds something to their liking in this extremely funny series. We in South Africa support it. Do you?
Irreverent show that was very funny mainly because of the stupidity of the main characters.
I remember watching this show when it first came out via Sony Entertainment Television Latin America.
I never missed it because every single episode had clever writing, funny acting, and best of all; the characters made fool out of themselves.
It's a shame it didn't last more than one season because it mixed with success the craziness of late 90's with some elements such as black humor and afro American oriented humor.
I can't think of another show like this one because it captured the essence of late 90's comedy.
Bring it back on DVD. It's not cult classic but it's surely a very original show.
My favorite episode dealt with the death of a clown. Oh, it was hilarious. You know what I'm talking about.
