    Noir-It-All

I plan to tune in next week

I didn't know who Wanda Sykes even was until I saw the commercials for Wanda at Large. And I was put off by her put-down comments. Somehow, I saw the second episode and enjoyed it very much. Her edgy comments make more sense in the context of the story line. The supporting cast is pretty funny and the Washington, DC location is a nice change. Also, you get the impression Wanda would be a good friend and one with no illusions about people. You can't see her becoming bitter. I thought the segment about reparations to African-Americans was pretty inventive. Usually, male comedians touch on such issues. So, hats off to Wanda Sykes.

    Needs Time To Grow

I love Wanda! There is no doubt that she is very very funny! I watched her on comedy central a lot and she was amazing and so funny, so I was very excited when I heard that she was getting her own show!

But her show is indeed "Wanda". It is the real deal, but It seems very watered down, possibly censored. Normally there is 2 or 3 VERY GOOD laughs in each episode that keep me coming back for the first season and I think that the supporting players need time to grow. They just fall in the background as of now.

So the second season should be something to look forward to!!!

    An absolute riot!

I only recently "discovered" Wanda while watching "Inside the NFL" on HBO. I was disappointed on the weeks she didn't have a segment because her wit is so sarcastic and hilarious, that, in my opinion, it made the whole show. When I found out she was starring in her own sitcom, I was thrilled. I also was NOT disappointed.

I watched the pilot this week and found myself laughing out loud all the way through it. I really hope it does well and continues for a long time. It certainly made my week. WATCH THIS SHOW!

    It's not THAT great

Every comment on this show thus far has given it rave reviews, but I really didn't find it all that great. Of course it's better than some 2002-2003 FOX shows, like 'The Pitts' for one, but when it comes to FOX comedians, 'The Bernie Mac Show' is alot better.

Wanda Sykes (Hawkins) is a funny comedian, I've seen a show of hers on Comedy Central, but the character, and enough of her, comes off way too annoying. And my biggest griefs are that, though it's only been 3-4 episodes, character development still seems stifled.

Phil Morris does his best with his easily cliched character, unfortunately, no matter how much fire he sends Skye's character's way, you know the 2 will have a dating relationship. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER SHOW. You knew Eric & Donna were gonna hook up on That 70's Show. J.D. & Elliot on Scrubs. Ross & Rachel on Friends. So on and so on.

Overall the shows is alright, maybe 5-6/10, but it doesn't have '5 year' material. Fans of Morris won't have to worry about this performance overshadowing his Jackie Chiles character on Seinfeld.

    Love It!

I have adored Wanda since I saw her stand-up special on comedy central. She is one of the most talented commedians I have seen in a long time. Since I follow her I was in heaven when she got her show, which is wonderful. My family and I have already made it part of our routine and cannot wait for it to come back next year. It's good to see a decent sitcom come from the "reality tv network".
