Kaarnaama review :

Noted villain Ranjeets home production; Kaarnaama was a love triangle involving Vinod Khanna, Kimi Katkar and Farha Naaz with horse racing as back drop. Ranjeet seemed inspired by Feroz Khan's style of filmmaking as Kaarnaama was slick, technically sound and lavishly mounted production with a wafer thin plot. It also had a love scene between Vinod and Kimi picturised underwater. A first of sorts!! The one glaring flaw I could find in the movie was Vinod was too heavy weight to play a jockey. Though he looked stunning as ever.

Unfortunately, the westernised movie, even with its share of merits, could not strike a chord with the desi audience and it flopped badly at the box office. Released at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir cinema, Kaarnaama lasted only a couple of weeks entailing heavy losses. Ranjeet made one more film called Gajab Tamaasa (1992) later but that turned out to be a bigger flop than Kaarnaama.
