Filthy and degrading
More misogynistic filth from Poland, a sequel to a film which didn't require one in the first place - and get this, more sequels were to follow! Everything about this is exactly the same as the first one, from the dodgy eyeball closeups to the shaky camera angles and music. Even the sets are the same! The sequel isn't as shocking but it's still pretty unpleasant, unless the sight of naked women getting electrocuted and knifed to death sounds like your kind of thing (and if it does, you seriously need psychiatric help).
Once again, every female in the cast is reduced to a mere sex object, simply yet another victim for the villain (same villain as the first, no further substantial clues to his identity - this is more vague than the conspiracy arc from THE X-FILES!). The gore effects are tacky and the direction exploitative and cheap. Furthermore, it drags terribly and doesn't have a beginning, middle or an end. What more can I say? What a way for Poland to go into the new millennium...

In praise of Fantom Kiler 2
The Fantom Kiler series really seems to divide opinions, (Then again so does Harry Potter). I preferred Fantom Kiler 1 to Fantom Kiler 2 (Slightly) - even though the sequel has some strong scenes. This is not a film aimed at hard gore fanatics, it is much more than that. For me it works as an erotic giallo-esque fantasy and has some nice photography, great looking women (who take their clothes off ... A LOT) and some brilliant soundtrack themes (I event bought the CD). I can't wait for number 3 to come out on DVD.
Some people say that Fantom Kiler has no plot. Well if the tale about a misogynistic hatred being manifest into a monster that does it's creator bidding is no plot then what plot has Friday the 13th? I think the idea is pretty original, but maybe too subtle for most teenage gorehounds to grasp, I fear. This is a a film for more mature audiences who appreciate the finer things in film making.
Bring on Fantom Kiler 4!!!

Oh no, Not again!!!!
Film fans have struggled long and hard to try and make a case for Jess Franco Dario Argento Jose Laraz et al as misunderstood genii, struggling in the lower depths of cinema crafting unrecognized and unsung masterpieces . Trevor Barley has blown the gaff with his 'Fantom Kiler' series showing that the only important quality that any of these giallos-euro shockers have for their fans is the visceral thrill of seeing attractive and generally naked women sliced and diced . TB has opted for the graphic approach eschewing the atmosphere plot suspense and other attempts at providing entertainment employed by his role models. Given the apparent budget I'm sure he has made some money from his efforts, hopefully enough to pay his legal fees if the worthies from the Office of Trading Standards or the Police notice him and enquire why he has not submitted his films to the British Film and Video Classification procedures required by all films distributed in the UK.
I never knew sex and violence could be so boring.
I quite enjoyed the first Fantom Kiler film for what it was—an unapologetically misogynistic giallo-inspired slasher laced with twisted humour and nary a plot to get in the way of all of the sex and violence; from the surgically enhanced breasts to the unconvincing killings, everything about the film was patently fake, and the women were as devoid of talent as they were of pubic hair, but it passed the time well enough.
For Fantom Kiler 2, which delves into the origins of its eponymous maniac, director Roman Nowicki (AKA Trevor Barley) once again assembles the cream of Poland's stripping industry for more wanton sleaze and deviancy, only this time around proceedings prove far less interesting thanks to a distinct lack of humour and Nowicki's irritating tendency to linger far too long on each and every scene (when even the most lurid of acts prove tedious, then there's something seriously wrong!).

This is not for Ittenbach fans
I prefer to watch a sexy horror movie than a low budget gorefest. Therefore I enjoyed this film. I don't want to give away the whole plot but it is more than just your typical serial killer type tale. It is the kind of film I have been looking for for a long time and thought would not exist. Sexy Eurpoean ladies, extreme situations, stylish, great music from Frank Cossack. Maybe it is slow in places but its still worth the purchase (nice cover too). Imaginative and very erotic....I can think of no other film like this for style and content. If you are looking for a bloody gorefest then go somewhere else I say....but appreciate that this is in a league of its own.
