A. Einstein: How I See the World

I watched this episode of "American Masters" on YouTube. I mention this because something strange happened--the longer I watched, the more the video and audio became out of sync--eventually being many seconds apart. It really made it necessary to listen more to the audio than what I was watching! Hopefully you can find a better way to see this.

This biography of Einstein is unusual in that its focus is on Einstein as a pacifist and anti-nationalist. Throughout the show, when it talked about his life, it always came back to his pacifism. This means that the show isn't really intended as a complete biography of the man--more a documentary about his moral/ethical beliefs. This is NOT a complaint--as there are probably a lot of other shows about Einstein out there waiting to be seen. Well done and worth seeing.

Even though this was produced by PBS in part with our tax dollars, they only ever made it available on VHS and only for a limited time. I doubt they would make it available again because much of the content is not now considered "politically correct." There is only an info page about it at the PBS website now, with carefully filtered content. It is not available for streaming regardless of our taxpayer dollars having at least partially funded it. There are VHS copies as of this date available on Amazon and eBay. I found this video very compelling and it is interesting to compare it with the more recent and "politically correct" works on Einstein.
