Aah, Blood Gnome.
A surprising film.
A film of contradictions and surprises. I was expecting a standard poor quality horror film, the usual combination of poor acting, poor effects and exploitative content.
No, instead the viewer is forced to confront ones own beliefs in "reality", "self" and "gnomes".
A considered study in social norms, conformity, ostracism and the need for acceptance. All played beautifully through the perspective of the central character, the 'Gnome'. (Played here, with profound gravitas, by a plastic gnome)
He tries his hardest to fit in, his efforts are universally met with rejection, dis-trust and bare hatred.
Who hasn't felt like that at some point or another? Inside all of us, there is, at times, a troubled gnome.
In these times of societal divisions, a relevant film indeed.
The final words left me weeping like a beaten drunkard. Realising the folly of his efforts, Gnome's last words, before expiring- "Gnomebud".
Not a dry eye in the...
OK, I'll stop. I realised that I couldn't muster up an opinion on the ACTUAL film beyond the words: "As absolutely terrible as it sounds".
A confused mess about the S&M bondage scene, and a demonic gnome. Also, the version I saw, had the last twenty minutes missing.
Still, looking forward to the remake: "Plasma Pixie".

I was in the mood for a bad horror movie. So I bought this one for very cheap. but I didn't expect it to be this cheap. Shot on home video quality, with long boring scenes. They tried to be funny but weren't. They tried to make it erotic (with some s&m stuff) but that didn't work either. Hoping for some laughs and an over the top climax. They didn't give it to me. As I watched it out to the end, hoping to see the mother creature and not be disappointed. It wasn't meant to be. Because they only showed small parts of the creature {it was in a box}.
If you think 2 dollars is cheap for a horror movie: think again because it's a big rip off.

The sheer stupidity of this movie I can get past. But the fact they tried to take themselves seriously for this pile of crap I can't. You really don't want to see this movie, and if I hadn't gotten a free copy of it, I wouldn't have seen it either. Do yourself a favor, go watch Gremlins, cause this movie isn't scary, funny, or sexy. They want you to think so, but it just isn't
Julie Strain, what were you thinking????

Invisible, blood thirsty gnomes from another dimension kill people who are engaging in some S&M! Yes, really!! Utterly crazy plot with no explanation to this madness.
Micro budget movie, so perhaps having the creatures invisible saved money on special effects (they can, however, been seen through the lead character's video camera & to be fair the effects are actually quite reasonable). As S&M is central to this film there is a lot of sex & nudity, which does hep detract from the awfulness of this ridiculous movie. Wooden is generally poor & in one scene a guy can be seen in the background setting up a prop.
This is a seriously bad movie - I expected nothing less - but there is some fun to be had from watching it too.
What I hate is that actress Ms. Pursley gets absolutely no credit for being the one single believable character in the movie. Considering the ridiculous writing, she probably did the best that was possible in such a mess. Entertaining, oddly. I hope the people controlling the camera shots are never involved in any movie, ever again. I made a better cinematographer when I was six. No, I'm not a cinematographer... that's how bad it was. The idea for the movie was not at all horrific. It certainly should not be considered a horror. Let's give credit to Ms. Pursley for her acting, shoot the cinema crew and at least thank the writers for a new and genuine idea.
