I had to watch 'Bratz' for a pop culture class and was completely appalled by it. It shows young girls that it is okay to be superficial, slutty, vain, and stupid. Any parent who would purchase this for young girls disgusts me. Not only is it completely devoid of any positive role models, it is also not in the least entertaining. It was physically painful to watch all of the random, awkward statements from horribly under-developed characters. The situations are unoriginal and uninspired (i.e. 'everything goes wrong for prom night, but it all turns out okay in the end'). This show should be avoided by adults and children alike.
That means riddled with caricatures, clichés and stereotypes. It is NOT a reflection on reality. I can't believe some of the reviews I'm reading. This is a bad influence on young girls? Does Tom and Jerry encourage children to chase mice and whack them with a mallet? Stop being so silly! I'll admit I didn't like the concept of this when it first came out, what can possibly be entertaining watching 4 spoiled rich American girls moan and use snobbish expressions, but now it is 2015 I can look back and laugh. Kids used to dress in really revealing clothing in the 2000s and adults all over were whining about it when they were doing anything wrong.
And I disagree that they are brainless bimbos as other reviewers have said because on the show I watched today titled "Bratz Slumber Party" one of the girls was concerned about her chemistry exam. I think this means the show is actually a positive influence on children, showing them girls who juggle schoolwork, boys and everything else without ditching one for the other.

I used to watch this show every Saturday morning before ABC played One Saturday Morning (Bratz aired at like 6 am, and One Saturday Morning started around 8). It was seriously my favorite cartoon for years. When I bought the Rock Angelz GameCube game, it brought me right back. I wish I could find this show and watch it all over again!
This show is iconic, hilarious, and so entertaining. I'd suggest it to literally anyone. It's definetely not trying to make kids perfect little angels, and it knows that. It's not promoting anything to children, even though it's technically "made for kids". People expect every children's show to have amazing role models, but newsflash, not all fo them do. Anyway, I love this show, and watch it if you haven't already.
I'm giving this a 10 stars because it was always my fave thing ever but the more I watch it the more I realise it's probably more aimed at teens. I think the episodes were also rushed a bit because I notice a lot of mistakes like the wrong voices used for the wrong characters or one minute they have a hat on the next minute they don't. But who cares, it's so bad that it's good. I will always love it.
