how can a movie about crap be so gosh darn cute?!

This is about the weirdest kids DVD I have ever seen. Although it's listed as being for ages 3 and up, many adults will find they are strangely attracted to this incredibly cute DVD,...about dog poo!! The Korean makers of this film have managed to instill a wonderful little personality into this,..."character". I think a lot of it was due to the excellent claymation but most of the reason it's so gosh darn endearing are the adorable voice actors. I looked at both the original Korean as well as the English language version on the DVD and both were incredibly high on the cute factor (though the Korean one is a bit better)! The music is awfully good, too. If you buy this for your kids, don't be surprised if you see it and become hooked too. What genius--being able to take such a repellent thing and turn it into gold. Nice job.

By the way, the Korean version has a song that is NOT on the American version. This song is great and I loved listening to the little Korean boy singing--so I preferred this version over the English one.

    Not so much about death

Jeesh, all these haters...I thought this was a story about finding yourself. That each person had some purpose...not about death or learning to deal with dying....Yes, it does have that thing about God but not being religious myself, I could still see it was just a good morale about finding your own self value, no matter where you came from. I would not suggest showing to little toddlers, but to children you could sit and actually interact with during and after the film. Yea, need to interact with your children so they won't bring poo into the house....that was sarcasm for a previous poster. Also the English Dub does grind at your ears, so if you can forgive some of the actors/actress voices and make it through the film, it can get a tear out of you.

Great film for the entire family

When I first started watching this film On Demand,I gotta say this film really is a masterpiece, but when I watched it again one more time,It was time for me to buy it. But when I bought the movie on DVD. It was inspiring. I have to say that the animation in this movie was excellent, and it had beautiful music. I have to say that the people who made this movie have done a pretty good job. But what this film really teaches us,is that all things have a purpose and we have to accomplish that goal. And that is why God created us, because we have to make that goal possible. But however, this film is truly a masterpiece. So if want to see something good, then this is perfect for your collection, and keep it for generations to come, and show it to your children, and their children. You will see what I mean.

    Cute and Surprisingly Deep

    Okay.

A Korean children's film about dog crap...? Count me in!

I love Korean cinema, children films and dog crap. How couldn't I jump at the chance to watch this little gem of a film.

The story starts off with a Jack Russell lookin' pup taking a dump on the side of the road. After a moment, this dog poop amazingly becomes conscious. It opens its eyes, and almost immediately, begins pondering some pretty deep thoughts.

When talking with other characters or sitting alone, it's always pondering existence, wanting to know reason for life, or even thinking/talking about the subject of death.

These are all very mature ideas for a children's film, but mixing it with such a vibrant and loving feel, the movie takes these issues and makes them relatable for children and adults alike.

Doggy Poo is really quite a unique little film, due to some charming animation (most of it claymation), rather taboo ideas for a family film, and of course, it's lead character being a pile of dog crap.

It was a breath of fresh air for this viewer, and it remains a cute little film I'm sure most people will enjoy.

    Its About Poo.... Enough Said!

The animation quality of this feature is sub-par at best. That being said this low quality animation is the highlight of the film as it is at least passable and not complete junk like the story. The story has a strong focus on God and his role in the life of poo. I would think that this would be offensive to both the religious and non-religious types. I can understand how some people might think this film was a good to introduce your children to the idea of death and how to deal with it, but there is a huge problem with that notion. THE FILM IS ABOUT POO. Your children won't be able to stop laughing. If anything this film will belittle death and warp your children's notions of it. If you, as a parent, cannot confront your child about this subject matter, please do not use this film to do so. Find another, more able minded, adult to do it. This way your child will grow up normally and without the mental distress this film would have caused them. Just my 2 cents.
