The Game (1976)

Goofs

The Game

Emergency!

Edit

Continuity

When the Trojan rides the horse around the stadium he passes old fashioned "H" shaped goal posts. During the game modern offset goal posts are used.

Factual errors

noticed in season 6 that the Federal Twin Sonic Light bar on Squad 51 is tilted to the front of the roof. These lights were designed to be mounted horizontally and if tilted they were not as visible for the flash effect. This would have been an easy adjustment.

Revealing mistakes

The first game clip shown of the opening kickoff is of a UCLA/USC game. However it is soon revealed that it's supposed to be a USC/Stanford game, and the subsequent game clips show USC/Stanford. Also the clip of what is supposed to be USC's first touchdown is shown a second time, but cuts away before the entire play is shown, evidently so it's not obvious that the same clip was reused.

Character error

When Johnny uses the Heimlich maneuver on the choking man in the tunnel, his hands are too high. They should've been below the rib cage. The compression forces the diaphragm up, thus causing a sudden compression of the lungs and forces a large amount of air to suddenly come up and expel the item causing the blockage to be violently expelled. This maneuver does not usually work for a partial obstruction as the air just goes around the blockage.
During stadium sideline rescue, Roy tells Dr. Bracket on radio that he and Johnny are still awaiting transport after the ambulance arrived.
