    Overtime

Gage is doing overtime at a different squad.

A very good episode, many serious moments not much humor. Gage meets up with an old friend who is Captain of the other squad. He is played by Lloyd Haynes who was Pete Dixon on "Room 222". They go to heart attack victim on the fire engine but it has no medical equipment.

At a fire there is a startling moment when an explosion happens and Chet is sent flying. He is not seriously injured but is kept overnight in the hospital. An 8 year old boy collapses and cannot move his legs, it turns out it was a tick bite.

The final rescue has a fire in a building loaded with fireworks. Roy gets injured this time.

A final joke has Gage bringing him a present at the hospital.

    • Trivia
Station 8 / Squad 8 is located at 7643 Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles, in West Hollywood, about 25 miles north of Station/Squad 127, which served as the fictional home of Station/Squad 51. Unlike 51, 8 is an actual Station number and is still active today. Before being featured in this episode, Station 8 was featured in the TV show, Rescue 8, which ran for two season's between 1958 and 1960. The show was about two LA County Firefighters who were trained as rescue specialists. They were played by Lang Jeffries (Bill Lappin) and Jim Davis, who is arguably most famous for playing Jock Ewing in the original Dallas.
    • Goofs
After the construction worker is brought into Rampart by Squad 39, Dr. Early inserts a Laryngoscope for the Intubation Tube, however the scope can be seen resting on the side of the victims face and not inserted orally as it should have been to insert the tube.

      Captain Hank Stanley: Hello, John.

Paramedic John Gage: I just got off the phone with Sarah, the duty nurse. She said Chet's gonna be fine, but they're gonna have to keep him for observation til in the morning.

Captain Hank Stanley: Glad to hear he's all right. We'll have a replacement for him here in an hour or so.

Paramedic John Gage: You having fun, Cap?

Captain Hank Stanley: Oh, yeah. This is a lot of fun. Why don't you grab a towel and have some fun yourself?
