    George S. Green

Gage and DeSoto see an ad in the paper looking for an old fire engine for $25000.00 by a man named George S. Green.

The first scene shows a drill with all the firemen testing out a toxic chemical. Dr. Morton examines a little boy with a sore throat, his mother (Kim Hamilton) just wants an antibiotic. Brackett and Early find it may be polio when the boy is brought back with leg problems.

A man comes to the fire house and has a heart attack. Chet tells Gage and DeSoto that the ad in the paper is a gag, though a real man (Bernard Fox) shows up but the guys don't believe him.

Best part is water rescue on Catalina Island. Gage and DeSoto must rescue a man from the rocks amid rough tide coming in and get him to a helicopter.

    • Trivia
The Coast Guard had to use Fireman rescue personnel for water rescues during the time that this was filmed. The Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer program did not come into being until an act of Congress mandated it in 1984. In 1983, 31 crew members of the M/V MARINE ELECTRIC perished in cold and rough seas because the Coast Guard was not equipped to handle situations such as that.
    • Goofs
At the beginning of the episode, a firefighter falls into sulfur trioxide, a highly caustic substance. Several firefighters carry him over to be treated, all still wearing protective gear. Captain Stanley tells Chet to get his gear off. Chet proceeds to take his left glove off, unbuckles the man's air tank while he still has the chemical on him, then puts on the glove to remove the rest of the gear.
