I also question whether or not they would've impounded the ship and taken them back to Starfleet as prisoners. Granted, rules weren't really established then, but this was more of an 80's scheme and then off your way once they foiled the scheme. I would argue that they had an obligation to take the ship, weapons, technology, etc or at least taken them apart and seen how they work.
Anyway, just take it as is and it's fun and enjoyable.
The Enterprise is taken over by a bumbling gang of thieves, wearing makeup prosthetics leftover from Armin Shimerman as Quark in "Deep Space Nine". Only Clint Howard retains his look underneath the very fake ears, nose and facial ridges.
It's up to Trip, Captain Archer and T'Pol to save the day and it seems like hours rather than 45 minutes for the story to unfold. Other than watching Jolene Blalock keep a straight face, there's nothing diverting here.
And the rest of the cast of regulars get to pick up their paycheck by sleeping on the job.

- TriviaThe Ferengi Muk asks "Do I look like a Menk to you?" The Menk were the lesser evolved species of the planet Valakia (the Valakians being the dominant species) seen in Dear Doctor (2002). In that same episode, the Valakians mention the Ferengi, but no one on Enterprise has ever heard of them.
- GoofsArcher asks Tucker to get some Phase Pistols. Tucker says the Ferengi cleaned out the armory; however, the Ferengi ship where the goods are being stored is not even 10 meters from them at this point (Krem is making Archer transfer stuff from Enterprise to the Ferengi ship). However, Tucker may not know where the weapons were stored when he runs into Archer.
- Quotes
Grish: [talking to someone off camera] Where is the vault? Do you understand me?
[next shot shows that he's talking to Porthos the dog, who barks back at him]
Grish: I can't lock onto its language.
Muk: It's a lower life form, you fool. Probably the captain's next meal.
Grish: Don't be so sure. Look at the size of its ears.
