    Always need to laugh

My brother has Down syndrome and this is his favourite episode. I've also been struggling with my own mental health issues for my entire life and I believe everyone needs to have a good laugh at themselves. It helps keep spirits up and not focus on the 'down' side of things :)

    Worst episode ever!!

To be honest, I have to say this is the worst episode ever that Seth Kearlsley and the crew ever made. Joking about people who have a mental health disorder is no laughing matter. I have a mental health disability and I feel deeply offended. So does my cousin. As for the people who created this episode, shame on them.

    • Trivia
The character Vern (Peter's social worker) is based on the character Vern (played by Micheal D. Roberts) in Rain Man (1988). In this film, Vern is a supportive worker at Raymond's (Dustin Hoffman) asylum, and says the line "I'm your main man Raymond, I'm your main man."
    • Goofs
Peter mentions what happens to Alex Murphy in the opening scene of "Robocop". However, that scene wasn't the opening scene.
    • Quotes

[Peter kicks open stall door in women's restroom; occupant screams]

      Peter Griffin: Sorry, retarded.

      Woman#1: Oh, it's okay.

[Peter kicks open second stall door; occupant screams]

Peter Griffin: Sorry, don't know any better.

      Woman#2: Oh, bless you then.

[Peter kicks open third stall door; occupant screams]

Peter Griffin: Geez, didn't you hear me a second ago? I'm retarded!

Woman#3: Oh, you're just curious. Well, let me show you how everything works down there.

    • Alternate versions
The DVD version of "Petarded" includes a deleted song where characters call each other about Peter being retarded that makes fun of the Telephone Hour number from "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963).
