Joey and Chandler back and HOTTER

Hi, first time Friends watcher here *waves nervously". I started out the other day randomly wanting to watch something casual and found myself breezing through the first season so fast enjoying it.

I only stopped to make a review because all I kept thinking this episode was how both Joey and Chandler look super cute with their new haircuts, thanks Pheebs! I mean they were handsome boys before but this just takes them up a notch on the hottie scale. Joey with his adorable dimwitted ways and Chandler's cute smile and charming neuroticism I think they make the perfect pair... at least to look at, especially with the new cuts.

Well since all I really wanted was to gush over the guys and there's this dumb character limit.... umm yeah Rachel here is insane, but also very typical. She spent the entirety of season one paying this man NO mind AT ALL romantically and now all of a sudden her life is over without Ross. Well I guess it's her turn to be in his position. I'm rarely a fan of these "will they won't theys" and don't think they'd make a good couple anyway, but we shall see.

Great show though, and premiere episode! I can see why it was so popular for so long. Charismatic characters, good chemistry and sharp writing with fast pace comedy and the writers really understanding 90s culture. Looking forward to the rest of season two.

    A Good Season Two Opener

After an anti climactic end to season one, season two starts in great fashion.

Plot In A Paragraph: An unsuspecting Rachel waits for Ross at the airport, unaware he has a new girlfriend. Meanwhile, Chandler has an uncomfortable experience with Joey's tailor, and after giving the boys good haircuts Phoebe caves in to pressure and gives Monica a celebrity inspired haircut.

Jennifer Aniston is superb here. She is very funny, but also heartbreakingly upset and depressed, and she looks great. Not sure if I'd noticed how great her legs were before on this show. Definitely my favourite "friend".

As for the boys Le Blanc and Perry bring these with the tailor storyline

    Hair

I want a hair cut like Demi Moore not Dudley Moore. Ha ha that bit was almost funny. Lol ha ha lol

    Classic For a Reason

Phoebe giving Monica a haircut, intending it to be Demi Moore but ending up with Dudley Moore. That's just peak Friends humor, and it sets up so many great jabs at Monica's expense throughout the episode. And then you've got the whole emotional gut punch for Rachel when Ross comes back from China with Julie. After the build-up in season one, it's just devastating to watch her deal with that. It really delves into the core relationship drama that makes the show so compelling.

But let's not forget about Joey's tailor. He's explaining how the tailor is so hands-on with Chandler is legendary. Ross's comment about that being how they measure for clothes in prison is one of those lines that actually makes me laugh every time. It's those little side storylines, completely separate from the main plot, that really highlight how brilliant the writing was. This episode is a perfect balance for the show's signature humor and a great start to season two.

Chandler: Yo, paisan. Can I talk to you for a sec? Your tailor... is a very bad man!

Joey: Frankie? What are you talking about?

[Ross enters and touches Chandler on the shoulder, who flinches]

      Ross: Hey, what's going on?

Chandler: Joey's tailor... took advantage of me.

      Ross: What?

Joey: No way. I've been going to the guy for 12 years.

Chandler: Oh, come on. He said he was going to do my inseam, and then he ran his hand up my leg, and then there was definite... cupping.

Joey: That's how they do pants! First they go up one side, they move it over, then they go up the other side, they move it back, and then they do the rear.

Joey: [Chandler and Ross stare at him] ... What? Ross, would you tell him? Isn't that how a tailor measure pants?

Ross: Yes. Yes, it is... In prison! What's the matter with you?
