    Cloying

I like all the jam. Not as good as the ham on the peep show where Jeremy nailed Sophie's mum.

Kind of a lame, unfunny disposable episode.

This is easily one of the 5 worst FRIENDS episodes in the entire series. Literally none of the characters have ANYTHING to do of any consequence and every single escapade is forgotten by the next week. I'm just going to give you the laundry list of what happens:
    • The writers had no idea what to do with unemployed, dumped Monica so they made her go crazy and start making "jam." That gave way to a weird urge to have an out-of-wedlock baby as an unemployed single mother.
    • Joey was jumping up and down on his bed like an idiot and dislocated his shoulder (Matt LeBlanc had a real life injury so this was done to cover it up).
    • Ross gives Chandler crappy advice on how to share the bed with Janice who smothers him.
    • And most disturbingly, Phoebe picks up a stalker who thinks he is following Phoebe's twin sister. After talking to him, she finds him ODDLY CHARMING despite the fact that he's creepy, sick, and exhibiting the behavior of a serial killer.
    • Rachel literally does nothing but make out with Ross and go to work.
    • David Arquette plays the "stalker." He is just as unfunny in this as he is in everything else that he is in.

I find it hilarious that the SJWs who are trying to retroactively "cancel" FRIENDS always bring up the Monica Fat Suit episodes, the fact that all 6 members of the cast are white, and the jokey "Chandler's gay" jokes as a reason the show should be scrubbed from history like it's a Civil War statue, but never mention the episode where they tried to make a joke about a single woman being stalked in a big city.

    Yeah, the Knicks rule!

Not the perfect episode of Friends, but a solid one for sure. Monica is still having a hard time getting over Richard and she decides to make jam and get pregnant. We had cute Joey and Monica moment, funny relationship problems and a laugh here and there. Fun fact - actor Matt LeBlanc hurt his hand while filming the previous episode The one where no one's ready so the injury is real.

    Massive Drop In Quality

Only one part of this episode was funny for me and that was the Chandler storyline. Such a drop in quality after the first two episodes were great.

Plot In A Paragraph: Much to an injured Joeys delight, a depressed Monica starts making tons of jam to take control of her life and to get over Richard. After a while Monica abandons the jam plan, and decides to have a baby instead. Leaving Ross threatening to tell their parents. Meanwhile Phoebe is dating a guy (David Arquette) who used to be obsessed with her sister and now has a restraining order to keep away from Ursula and Chandler seeks advice from Ross on how to get some space in the bed on a night, so Ross tells him about his "hug and roll" technique.

    • Trivia
Matt LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder on set attempting a sight gag while filming the previous episode The One Where No One's Ready (1996). As a result, his arm was in a protective sling. At the beginning of this episode, Chandler overhears Joey bouncing on his bed and falling off. This was written into the story to explain why the character would be wearing a sling.
    • Goofs
When Chandler comes in to talk to Ross and Rachel, to discuss him accidentally calling Janice fat, the shadow of a person walking can be seen under the green cupboard door and the back of Monica's apartment by the balcony.
    • Quotes

Joey: Remember when your mom used to drop you off at the movies with a jar of jam and a spoon?

      Rachel: [pause] You're so pretty.
