First episode to a wonderful series! Lorelai, Rory, Emily, Richard, Luke, & Sookie will become characters that you love, hate, or a little of both.

Great pilot!

This is one of the best pilots for a show! They set up the town, the main characters, the supporting characters, the conflict, and the unique charm of the whole show in one episode. Lorelai and Rory are a really fun mother-daughter duo who love food, pop culture, and coffee. This episode is really fun and a great set up for the rest of the season!

Trivia
Sookie was originally played by Alex Borstein, however Alex was unable to get out of a deal from another show. She ended up guest starring as Drella, an employee at the inn, for several episodes.

Goofs
In the Pilot episode Luke's diner is in the middle of the block and doesn't have a "William's Hardware" sign. The letters are instead engraved above the door.
