Lorelai's famous outfit

I feel like Lorelai is too dramatic in this episode but you gotta love her famous outfit she wears to Chilton... cringey!

Rory's First Day

Yes, it's ridiculous Lorelai has no other clothes to wear. But it makes for a very funny situation at Rory's first day of Chilton. This episode sets up Rory's school dynamic with Paris, Tristan, and her other classmates. We also see how different this school load is going to be compared to SHH.

Also love getting to see Sookie and Jackson interacting- they're fun!

Trivia
Liza Weil was considered for the role of Rory. Amy Sherman-Palladino liked her so much, she created the role of Paris for her.

Goofs
When Sean Gunn's character "Mick" meets Miss Patty on Lorelai's front porch, they are presumably strangers; in a later episode, when "Kirk" is Taylor's new assistant manager at the store, he again is a stranger to Patty. In later episodes, Kirk and Patty have a long history as dance student and teacher respectively.
