Jeff Gets Taken for a Ride

Still looking for his father, Jeff (Dack Rambo) rides into a small western town. He's there to meet likewise searching grandfather Will (Walter Brennan), who hasn't arrived yet. Led by obviously-dressed Civil War veteran James Griffith (as Major Cross), a trio of outlaws listen as Jeff identifies himself as a Sonnett. Claiming to be partners with Jim Sonnett in a gold mine, Mr. Griffith invites Jeff to meet his father, at long last. Jeff is so excited, he doesn't wait for Will. We know something is going to go very wrong when sneaky, long-haired Allen Jaffe (as Charlie) empties Jeff's gun. They ride off to meet Jim. Will arrives in town and gets cranky. After hoisting a few with fellow old-timer Douglas Fowley (as Hi Lowe), Will sets out to find Jeff. This episode's not bad, for coming in under 30 minutes. Again, we wonder how Jim is able to avoid his kin, especially since Jeff is identified as his son. He must have a very good reason. Stay tuned...
