Malloy's Snitch

T. J., a junkie ex con and informant is suspected of robbing a priest.

An OK episode. Malloy also helped T. J. get a job, which is more troubling to him. John Kerr ("Tea And Sympathy" 1956) plays the priest. Barney Phillips has a small part as a detective, he was also one of Joe Friday's partners on the 1950s version of "Dragnet". An amusing scene has a hotel desk reporting his baby has been stolen, a 45 caliber pistol.

Trivia
This was the first appearance of George Brenlin as Duke. Duke's restaurant would be a hangout for Reed and Malloy during the second season.

Goofs
When Malloy and Reed are driving down the street and come across Andy, Reed jumps out of the car to chase him down. The car door slams shut by itself - obviously helped by a crew member.
