Lancelot stumbles into yet more trouble.

Sir Lancelot stumbles into a dispute between a tribe of women and King Athelred. The women are defending their village, whilst the men are away they fear an attack from Athelred, and kidnap her daughter.

Definitely one of the more enjoyable episodes, and for 1957, it displays some quite progressive ideas. Initially you'll despair after Lancelot's initial encounter, but it then goes on to show women as capable warriors, brave and fearless, rather than just the usual maidens in distress.

A few stumbling blocks, the battle was won a little too quickly, the way those Knights succumbed was a little bit of a stretch.

Not in colour, but presented in monochrome, I think this episode looks terrific, it has a real film like quality to it.

I liked the main characters, Linda Gray was fine as Marta, High Horsley was amusing as Ethelred, what a prolific actor he was, his agent was definitely capable.

    7/10.

    The Missing Princess

If this was made today, it would be describe as being woke. Right wing politicians would blame Sir Lancelot for the rise in male youth crime as they would have no suitable role models.

While the men are away, a tribe of women run the village and take care of the farming. This includes defending their land and they are very good at it.

The women are repelling skirmishes from neighbouring King Athelred. He is hoping that the women break a peace treaty so he can attack them and take their lands.

Athelred has an excuse now that the women has kidnapped his daughter. It is for Lancelot to rescue the princess and also help out the women.

There is plenty of swordplay for Lancelot. The women are very cunning and even threaten to burn the princess even though it is an empty threat.
