The shows that feature period teenagers seem to fall flat. The slang expressions and their mannerisms are ridiculous. These guys are so stupid. They know there is all this money in the house, so instead of a quick in and out, they get into things, start partying, leaving tracks. One of them is smarter than the other two. Another jumps around like he's nuts. The girl has no sense of danger. It's just crummy episode.
Boris Sagal, who shaped PETER GUNN, has a very similar episode to direct, only for Hitch. That means there's a slick catch. I give it nine stars because Rafael Campos makes a dandy villain, a role he played for decades.
His gal pal Dora (pretty Evans Evans) is babysitting for a wealthy gentleman (Philip Reed) who has a safe? Gino (Campos) can't wait to get his greedy hands on what's inside, to the tune of 32,000 dollars (over 300,000 dollars today). Worth robbing and even killing for, except Gino kills the wrong guy. You don't want to mess with these folks.
I agree with the last reviewer, only debit is this bunch should have just up and ran. The longer they stood, the deeper the mess they get themselves in -- exactly what Hitch would want, right?
No matter, watching this play out is fascinating, and Campos is the whole show. Veteran actor Philip Reed also fits here, known for portraying playboys and villains to the max. One of the few actors who also did his own stunts.
Note, about a year after this episode Evans Evans married producer and director John Frankenheimer, and often appeared in her husband's films. She passed in 2024.
Tribute to Boris Sagal (RICH MAN, POOR MAN) who we lost too soon in a tragic filming accident.
SEASON 7 EPISODE 22 remastered Universal dvd box set. All seven seasons are also on dvd in a single box set. 35 dvds in all.

A man is going out and he has a baby sitter (Evans Evans) come to watch his little boy. However, the sitter turns out to be a crook and she invites her gang over to rob the safe she discovered when she was sitting there previously. Little do these dopey crooks realize that they are in for a mess of trouble!
This is a decent episode though one that seemed more suited for a cop or gangster show. This isn't a complaint...just an observation about the style of show. Still, it is worth seeing and it's nice to see justice served!
By the way, Evans Evans was the wife of the very famous director, John Frankenheimer ("The Manchurian Candidate", "Seven Days in May", "Seconds" and many other great films).
