Man on the Edge

"Man on the Edge" is an installment of the rebooted 1980s "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". And, like way too may episodes of this series, it is a remake of one of the earlier 1950s episodes of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" entitled "Man with a Problem". It also happens to be one of the best episodes of the old series...which makes it pretty easy for the remake to work as well.

Mark Hamill stars as a desperate man who checks into a hotel room and soon he's on the ledge, threatening to kill himself when he jumps to the street way below. A police negotiator (Michael Ironside) soon arrives and spends much of the episode trying to talk him back inside. Additionally, you see a flashback about the events that led to the man being on the ledge.

I don't want to say much more about the plot...it would spoil the suspense. Suffice to say it's a dandy episode and the remake is nearly as good!
