Prisoners

Yaphet Kotto plays an escaped convict in this episode of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents". He breaks into a fancy home and takes the housewife hostage. At first, he's threatening and a jerk (no surprise, as he's an escaped con) but over time the pair start to become friendly and she even talks about going with him and abandoning her dull life in suburbia. Then comes an abrupt and unexpected ending.

Seeing the constricted housewife start to have fun with the prisoner was fun and interesting...interesting that her own life was so awful that being the man's prisoner seemed like a plus! But the ending...well, it worked but was jarring and something many viewers probably won't like. Still, it is an interesting and original episode...which is a big plus and why I still give it a 7 despite not loving the ending.
