    Relative Values

Directed by Martin Campbell this is a nifty mystery which shows that Bergerac did not always needed to be action packed.

Wealthy miser Henry Bernard is hospitalised with food poisoning. His son Philip visits from from London and he tells Bergerac that the housekeeper, Lisa plans an accidental death of his father for the inheritance.

Henry Bernard has been estranged with his son and daughter for some years. Bergerac thinks there is nothing to investigate then Henry dies of gas poisoning.

Suspicion falls on Lisa, Charlie Hungerford wants to bu Henry's house for redevelopment and the children plan to contest the will.

Some nice twists and turns in this episode which makes it effective. Lynda La Plante plays housekeeper Lisa and Warren Clarke plays the son.
