    George Has His Hearing

Esmeralda cannot send George and Martha Washington back to their own time.

A mediocre Part 2 to the Washington story. Many historical figures have been on other episodes and the premise has worn thin. The judge at the hearing is played by Herb Voland, who would play Gen. Clayton on the M*A*S*H series.

Last appearance of Alice Ghostley as Esmeralda.
    • Goofs
While at McMann & Tate, George Washington says "each (washing machine) looks very much like the other", but some are front-loaders and others are top-loaders. Granted he didn't know much about washing machines, but no one corrected him.
    • Quotes

Judge Armstrong: Will you continue to be George Washington?

President George Washington: No man should live beyond his time. Therefore, although I shall continue to be George Washington, for I can be no other, I will not be that untimely gentleman in your gracious presence.

Judge Armstrong: What did he say?

      Samantha Stephens: He's leaving town.

      [they start to leave]

Judge Armstrong: Ah, Mrs. Stevens? If he isn't George Washington, he ought to be.

      Samantha Stephens: Right on.
