    Depressing

I never thought, as a big fan, I'd give any episode of The Bob Newhart Show a rating as low as a three, but they tried my patience with this script and they exhausted it.

There are very few attempts at real jokes here, and even they weren't clever enough to bring a real smile.

Carol is contemplating going home, but instead opts not to and shows up at Bob and Emily's Christmas Eve party, where she proceeds to regale them with stores of how everything that ever went wrong was, in her father's eyes, her fault.

Some of the stories are supposed to be bizarre enough to amuse by that quality alone.

    Wrong.

The show is simply depressing and as a viewer, we got nothing from it. Drama should at least have a lesson or resolution, and this story provides neither.

Zany episode clicked all the way through.

A daring dark story to focus on Carol's miserable home life in Collinsville Iowa. Bill Daily was brilliant as Howard Bordon thinking the eggnog was spiked actually when it had root beer in it. A supposedly drunken Howard is quite the sight. What's up with Bob's black tuxedo, blue shirt, and tan overcoat for the symphony?

I was eager to see the episode considering all the bad reviews it got. I really enjoyed the episode..
