    Where Else Could I Go?

Callan is back for series 3 and in colour.

This is a sort of reboot of Callan. It was thought that he series would finish in series 2 and it definitely ended up in a bang with Callan on the receiving end of a bullet.

This episode takes several months later. Callan has recovered from his bullet wound. There is a new Hunter, Meres is on an assignment in America and Callan has no flat to go to.

Hunter wants to make sure that Callan has mentally recovered and still has his killer instinct. There is a new younger operative, James Cross (Patrick Mower) who thinks he can take over from Callan.

Lonely is Callan's weak point. He is on remand and looking at a long stretch. Lonely felt led down by Callan and drifted further into his life of crime.

Behind all this is Hunter. He needs an angry mean Callan not one who in conciliatory.

There was a lot here that was later mirrored in the James Bond movie Skyfall when Bond is thought to be dead and later wants to return to duty. He even lost his flat.

Callan who previously wanted to get away from his job with the security services, now feels this his all he has left.
