    What kinda bothers me....

Why didn't they check his wallet for his drivers license? Guess it would've made a shorter episode. Still a laugh fest !

Fred Gwynne gets a lot out of the character.

A funny Fred Gwynne heavy episode. He has a wide scope of portraying the character sometimes with a high intellect quoting Shakespeare or other times with a childlike behavior. A true master of voice work with endless dialects and expression. I'm not sure the writers did the research because adoption is rarely used for amnesia patients unless they're unable to care for themselves. A treat to see The Andy Griffith Show staples Olan Soule and Willis Bouchey.

    • Trivia
In one scene at the Munster home, Grandpa has the TV on, and the theme song to My Three Sons (1960) can be heard, although the screen cannot be seen. That was a popular sitcom which had recently moved from ABC to CBS, the same network as "The Munsters". Grandpa enthusiastically mentions the show by name. Butch Patrick (Eddie) later played a recurring role on "My Three Sons."
    • Quotes

Lily Munster: I thought you were coming as Rock Hudson? You look like Rudolph Valentino.

Grandpa: Musta have gotten a hold of some old pills. Well, at least I'm still in the 20th century.
