The Brothers Grim

You have to give the actor Dennis Franz credit for playing the character so consistently. I do like him very much but it is a shame how someone could stay so emotionally underdeveloped as a human as Sipowicz. That is the only word I can come up for him. He seems to be perfectly comfortable being uncomfortable in so many life situations. He has to go at someone like he is fighting fire. Take when Lt. Tony Rodriguez suddenly takes retirement to take a private job. He can't just think about it and feel good for the guy but has to be critical of him for leaving the job. He obviously thinks everyone needs to value and stay with a job, even though in the case of the Lt. He had been betrayed by a jury on something that was not his fault. Results were that there would be no promotion possible. In general Sipowicz is a guy who can not be generally happy about much of anything. But Franz has the character totally down. I wonder what Dennis Franz thought about his character. Or if he is anything like the character?

There's a new female detective to replace Connie. She and Rita go on a case when a drugged up woman comes asking them to find here daughter. She had been passed off to a friend to another person to another. You get the idea. They have to wade through layer after layer. The result is interesting. The next case is a family where everyone hates everyone else. There are three sons who don't get along. One has travelled from Florida and has a bounty hunter after him. One of them ends up dead. The third case is about a guy named Peeler who was arrested for child rape when Andy was a rookie. He has spent 18 years in prison. But now, with DNA, it has been shown that he was innocent. Andy tries every which way to revisit the case. This is an excellent use of this venue.
