      Harry tells Yakov to go to the Soviet Consulate to request a visa. However, one of Harry's first cases that same evening is for Yakov destroying property in the visa clerk's office. Yakov could not have traveled from the court to the Soviet consulate, apply for and then be rejected for a visa, destroy property, have the police called, be arrested (along with the visa clerk), taken to jail, and then appear before Harry in court all in a matter of a few hours.
