    Off with a bang!

This is one of the truly pure funny episodes of Night Court!

It's actually one I don't remember seeing first time round. And I was so pleasantly surprised with how many great laughs.

The problem with many Night Court episodes - especially the previous Dan's Operation 2 parter - is that it often gets too serious and wanders into sentimentality. It was the episodes like this from Night Court and other 80s sitcoms that Seinfeld was invented as a sitcom where no one learns anything!

This one though and upcoming "Prince of a Guy" are just mainly good, straight humour.

The ending especially to this episode is an absolute banger and a hoot! With great guest stars too!

    • Trivia
Harry mentions following the route Mel Torme took while touring with the Chico Marx Orchestra in summer 1942 and visiting Des Moines, Tulsa, Peoria, Boise, and French Lick. While Chico Marx's orchestra played in Des Moines from July 21-23, they do not appear to have visited the other cities mentioned during that summer.
    • Goofs
Harry speaks of retracing the steps of Mel Torme and the Chico Marx orchestra, and he pronounces it as cheek-o, when it's actually pronounced chick-o.
    • Quotes

[the defendants are an elderly couple who have been disturbing the police by having sex in their own apartment, very often, and very loudly]

Judge Mike Watson: I don't mean to pry, Mr. MacNulty, but why are you so loud during these romantic interludes?

Mr. MacNulty: [cupping a hand to his ear] What?
