It's Certainly Sprung Up From Somewhere...

This one really divides people: some love it while others hate it, and I can see both sides. It's a very simple premise which is delivered reasonably well but it's nothing special.

Outside of the main Trotter family cast of characters it's been difficult to tell who plays the most important supporting role in the series: Boycie had his moment; Denzil as well, but now it seems as though Trigger is the supporting character who is focused on the most, for better and worse.

    Decent but not great.

    Hilarious!

One of my favourite only fools & horses Episode. I love the over the top concept of the episode. David Jason was brilliant as Del Boy yet again. British Comedy at its finest. 7/10

Mostly solid episode with standout moments

Mother Nature's Son maybe the most far fetched episode of OFaH, but for me, it contains some of the strongest dialogue John Sullivan produced since series 6.

The plot feels implausible and requires a willing suspension of disbelief, but this for me is not a problem in situation comedy.

Certain characters are used well by Sullivan, particularly Del, Rodney, Cassandra, Trigger and Denzil. As ever, the actors performances enhance the quality of the material tenfold.

I love the opening sequence that uses visuals and music effectively. I also like the original cut of the episode that uses the song "Money" during a later sequence.

Easily the best scene for me is the exchange of dialogue between Rodney and Cassandra, where the extent and impact of Del's scheme becomes clear. Whilst the writing is good, Nicholas Lyndhurst's delivery and comic timing is absolutely fantastic and Gwyneth Strong is also great.

Does it drag a single concept on for too long? Arguably it does, but there is more than enough memorable humour to make up for it.

    Worst ever

Has to be the worst episode. No one seemed bothered to try acting.

    • Trivia
The hotel featured is the Grand Hotel, Brighton which was bombed by the IRA in 1984 in a failed attempt to assassinate Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher who was attending the Conservative Party conference.
    • Goofs
The TV news report talks of the "London Borough of Peckham". Peckham is not actually a borough in its own right, rather it is part of the London Borough of Southwark.
    • Quotes

Uncle Albert: You call that music, sounds more like noise to me. That's all you youngsters are interested in nowadays.

Rodney: Didn't your generation ever enjoy itself Albert?

Uncle Albert: When I was your age I was fighting in the war.

Rodney: Well then you must have made more bloody noise than me then!

    • Alternate versions
During the scene where the Trotters check in to the Grand Hotel, "Money (That's What I Want)" by The Beatles was replaced on the DVD release by an instrumental tune.
